Hello Beer Lovers!
This is D.J. from Consumers Beverages and just like many of you, I am a devoted beer lover. In this new segment I will be giving in-depth reviews for select beers on a bi-weekly/monthly basis. I will also have guest reviewers and other cool beer related chat so check back often! If any of these beers sound intriguing, stop in to your local Consumers Beverages Center and pick some up! Below is the beer I chose to review for this month.
Cheers!
| Brewery: | Southern Tier Brewing Co |
| Beer: | Hop Sun |
| Appearance: | Pale body, very, very clear for a wheat beer (it's obviously filtered). Very thin white head with not much retention and very little lacing. |
| Aroma: | Hoppy with fruit and citrus standing out. Nice and inviting. |
| Taste: | Follows the nose with a smooth, flavorful hoppiness that makes this one taste like an American Pale Ale. Fruity, citrusy American hops really stand out. The malt really isn't there at all. |
| Summary: | A nice beer from Southern Tier (hey, that rhymes!). Its nice and hoppy while being refreshing and a good example of a hubrid summer/wheat beer. Certainly worth a try if you're looking for a flavorful yet lite beer on a hot summer day. |
