Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where can I purchase General Admission tickets?

A: General admission tickets are sold at all 17 WNY Consumer’s Beverages locations, at the Info Kiosk on the Boardwalk at Canalside until 2pm on the day of the show, and on General admission tickets purchased at Consumer’s Beverage or Canalside’s Info Kiosk will come with a drink ticket good for a free beer, wine, soda or water at the concert. Tickets purchased at the door on the day of the show DO NOT include a free drink coupon.

Q: Are Canalside Live Concerts free?

A: No, there is a $5 admission charge. Children under 5 years of age are free. VIP Tickets can be purchased at Canalside’s Info Kiosk or on VIP tickets are available for $35 and give you access to the VIP Honda Pavilion where you receive 2 free drink coupons (beer/wine/soda/water), private bathrooms, and access to the front of the stage viewing area! Feel free to bring your own chair! *VIP is 21 years of age or older.

Note: Day-of VIP tickets can be purchased for $35 at the main box office, if the VIP section is not already sold out.

*Please note some 2019 concerts may have an increased ticket price of $10 for GA and $40 for VIP. The price will be clearly stated for each concert.

Q: Are there any free tickets or give-a-ways available?

A: Yes, Understanding that a $5 fee may not be an option for all, the Canalside Cares Program was created to provide a limited number of free tickets to each concert, along with other Canalside activities, including ice skating during the winter months. The United Way will be organizing the ticket outreach.

Q: Can I bring my own folding chairs?

A: Yes, you may bring your own chairs for sitting in the General Admission area and the VIP Honda Pavilion. No chairs are permitted in the areas indicated by signs near the front of the stage. *Please note this policy may not apply for third party events.

Q: Are cameras permitted?

A: Small handheld or personal cameras are allowed. Professional cameras of any kind are not permitted without a media pass.

Q: Can I bring my dog to a Canalside concert?

A: No, unless it is a certified service animal. Paperwork is required.

Q: Is outside food or beverage permitted?

A: No.

Q: May I bring in a backpack?

A: No, backpacks and large tote bags are not allowed.

Q: What time do gates open? What time do the bands go on stage?

A: Gates open at 5:00PM for each Canalside Live concert. Typically, music will start at 6PM and the headliner will go on stage at around 8PM, depending on the concert.

Q: Are Canalside Live concerts open to all ages?

A: Yes! However, the VIP Honda Pavilion is 21 and over only.

Q: Are concerts rain or shine?

A: Yes. For the safety of our patrons, concerts will be cancelled in the case of severe weather – i.e. thunder, lightning, or very strong winds.

Q: I want to dock my boat for a concert. Do you take reservations?

A: No, dock reservations are not available for concerts or paid special events. Rafting of similar-sized vessels is mandatory if no dock space is available. For dock rates, visit our General FAQ Page.

Security Procedures

Visitors attending the Canalside Live concerts throughout the summer are encouraged to arrive early to ensure orderly entry into the concert. Gates open at 5PM for VIP ticket holders and General Admission. The VIP entrance is located at Main and Perry streets. The General Admission entrance is located on Hanover Street.

*There is no re-entry allowed.

Gates will close at 9:30PM, no entry will be allowed after 9:30PM. In addition, any patron who is removed from the concert and attempts re-entry will be charged with criminal trespassing. No backpacks will be allowed at Canalside Live concerts.

All bags and person are subject to security inspection.  The following information is designed to assist in expediting the entry process.


  • Bags  (Diaper bags and small purses are permitted – No larger than 12″ X 12″)

  • Blankets


  • Any item deemed inappropriate or dangerous by security
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Air horns
  • Animals (unless a service animal)
  • Backpacks/Large tote bags
  • Bicycles (within the secure perimeter)

  • Glass containers
  • Illegal drugs/drug paraphernalia
  • Laser pointers
  • Outside food or beverage, including coolers
  • Professional video and photo cameras

  • Any guest who is deemed intoxicated upon arrival will not be permitted to enter.
  • Anyone under the age of 21 who has alcohol on them will be removed from the site.
  • Any adult who provides alcohol to someone under the age of 21 will be removed.
  • Staff may ask for proof of age from anyone wishing to purchase alcohol.
  • There will be a maximum of two beers sold to any one person at one time.
  • Anyone who staff believes to be intoxicated will be immediately removed.
